The Allergy Test

The Allergy Test
In general there are no ingredients that are 100% hyper allergenic as allergies are varied & complex. There are hundreds of safe & unsafe formula methods of preserving & thickening of natural products. Oftentimes the unsafer methods lead people into believing they are allergic to certain natural ingredients.
If you suspect you are truly allergic to a natural ingredient, do a patch test to determine if this is truly the case.

Allergy Test
1) Take a peice of the suspected natural ingredient in it's      raw form.

2) Apply the ingredient on the pulse of your wrist or the     crook of your elbow.

                                                      3) Leave the area unwashed for a period of 24-48 hours.

Signs of Allergic Reactions to an Allergy Test
Redness, rash, any form of breakouts on skin, itchiness, pain etc. In severe cases such as experiencing nausea or respiratory reactions cease use & immediately see your health professional to discuss the reaction.

Important Tip
When testing essential oils or distilled plant products, know the properties & contra-indications in advance. There are some ingredients that must never be used on infants, toddlers, children, pregnant women & those who are immuno-suppressed. Skin patch testing will not alleviate the need to know this in advance.
