Always keep essential oils out of children's reach. A few drops of pure essential oil accidentally ingested shouldn't be life threatening, but it is best to take these precautions. Give the child milk, cream or half & half then call your local poison control center or seek emergency medical attention. Avoid the use of Essential Oils on premature babies.
Never use synthetic or adulterated oils. Children who suffer from pre-existing conditions or ailments should not be administered certain essential oils, either as an application or in a diffuser.
Children respond very well to low dosages of essential oils. Keep in mind that their skin is also very delicate & only use oils that are safe. If a child dislikes the smell of a particular Essential Oil, it is always a good sign that the Essential Oil is not right for the child, discontinue before the child develops an allergy to it & consider another safer Essential Oil alternative.
